I’m Susie - a Chartered Physiotherapist, Life Coach and Pilates instructor with over 25 years of experience supporting women through the moments that change everything.

But before any of that - I'm a woman who has navigated the exhaustion of new motherhood, the juggle of building a business, and the very real shifts that come with perimenopause. I don't just understand what you're going through professionally. I understand it personally.

My Story- Where it all Began

“It started with my own 2 babies.”

I didn’t know it at the time. I was just a new mum trying to figure it all out like everyone else - exhausted, overwhelmed, and quietly amazed that nobody had really prepared me for how much pregnancy and birth would change my body.

What I did know was that Pilates was helping me. Not just physically -though it was doing that too - but it was giving me something back that I hadn’t even realised I’d lost. An hour that was mine. A room full of women who got it. A reminder that I was still a person, not just a mother.

During both pregnancies that one hour a week in a class meant everything to me. Surrounded by other women going through the same thing, feeling less alone in it, remembering that what we were doing - growing a human -was actually extraordinary.

And postpartum? That was harder than I expected. The relentlessness of it. Being responsible for someone else every single hour of every single day. I treasured the baby weigh-in sessions — not for the numbers, but just to show up somewhere and talk to another adult. I tried the gym but I always seemed to be late for the start of the class and then dropping my baby in the crèche - the timings never quite worked. I went to outdoor classes in the park and loved them but always wished there was somewhere warm, somewhere I could take my baby without the logistics.

So eventually I just thought - I’ll build it.

In 2016 Mummies Matter was born. Two Pilates classes a week. A small community of women finding their feet in motherhood together. I had no idea then that it would grow into everything it has become.

But looking back -all of it was shaping something. Every class, every conversation, every woman who came through the door. It was all pointing me here. My second baby I noticed something. Pilates had been quietly transforming my recovery - and I could see that the women around me were searching for exactly the same thing. Not just exercise., but s space, a community. Somewhere they could bring their baby, move their body and remember who they were beyond being a mother.

My Story- The Midlife Chapter

“Now I’m in it too.”

At 47 I'm navigating perimenopause myself. The tiredness that feels different from ordinary tired. The irritability that arrives uninvited. The fierce protectiveness over my own time and energy that I've had to learn to honour rather than apologise for.

Training as a life coach in 2022 changed things for me - not just professionally but personally. Being coached myself had already shown me what was possible. It helped me prioritise myself without guilt, protect my boundaries without explanation, and understand that filling my own cup isn't selfish - it's essential.

That's why Maternity to Menopause has grown

with me. Because I keep living the transitions

I support women through -and that means I

Qualifications and Experience

Chartered Physiotherapist

Qualified since 2000. Over 25 years working across the NHS, private hospitals and self-employment. Specialist in women's health and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy- pregnancy, postpartum and menopause.

HCPC registered. CSP member.

Currently practicing one day per week in a local hospital alongside my private work.

Certified Womens Life Coach

Trained as a life coach in 2022 - after years of being coached myself and witnessing the gap between physical recovery and emotional wellbeing in the women I worked with. Coaching is offered as a completely separate service from physiotherapy.

Pilates Teacher

Teaching Pilates for over 10 years with a specialist focus on women - pregnancy, postpartum recovery and menopause. Every class is informed by my physiotherapy background so you move well, not just often.

The Journey So Far

2000- Qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist at Leeds Metropolitan University

2010- Started teaching pilates- started general then specialised in pregnancy, postpartum and beyond

2016 Founded Mummies Matter. Started with 2 classes per week and a growing community of mums finding their feet together

2022- Qualified as a Womens Life Coach with One of Many. Expanding into the mindset side of Womens transitions

2024- Rebranded to Maternity to Menopause. Reflecting the full journey- and the woman I had grown into alongside my clients

2026- 10 years of supporting women
