Empower your Pregnancy

Pregnancy is such a special time but let’s be honest, it’s not always sitting on the sofa with your feet up, dipping biscuits in your brew! It can be hard work, emotionally and physically, and often overwhelming, especially if this is not your first pregnancy and you have other children to look after too!

Did you know, 1 in 5 women suffer with some degree of pelvic pain during their pregnancy? And almost 70% of women suffer with back pain at some point during their pregnancy. These aches and pains can sometimes make even the simplest tasks feel huge!

You don’t have to enjoy every moment of pregnancy. And I am here to tell you, that’s okay!

During my first pregnancy, I found a local yoga class that I used to go to and it was so helpful for me to remind myself that I was pregnant and what an important and hard job my body was doing! Going to this class weekly allowed me to connect with other women who were on the same journey, and often had the same feelings as me! This class allowed me to bond with my baby as I used this time once a week to pause on the rest of my busy life and focus on me and bump!

This time became even more precious during my second pregnancy when life was so much busier. Giving myself permission to step away, to focus on myself and my baby and to take some time out to nourish my body was exactly what I needed.

Empowered pregnancy is all about offering the same for you! I am here to give you permission to take some time out and focus on you, your body and your baby.

The Empowered Pregnancy Programme is a three-session in-person course designed to empower and support you every step of the way.

What will the programme involve?

Over the course of three weeks, we will covering the following topics

  • Exercise in pregnancy

  • Preparation for labour

  • Bladder and bowel health in pregnancy and beyond

  • Pelvic floor health

  • Posture and movement in pregnancy

  • After birth

  • C-section recovery

  • Your tummy muscles after birth

  • Returning to exercise after birth

  • Mum mindset in pregnancy and beyond

  • Get ready to blossom into the new version of you!

I love bringing women together and creating a community. I see all the time in my pregnancy pilates classes how important this is for women to connect with one another during pregnancy. Seeing friendships blossom that have been created in my class from pregnancy and then into motherhood is one of my favourite parts of my job.

As a life coach, I can support women with their mindset and the emotional rollercoaster that is pregnancy and motherhood. Mental health challenges are common during pregnancy. Your fluctuating hormones can often have a part to play but sometimes it is more than that. 10-20% of women suffer with some form of mental health issue during pregnancy, there is SO much support out there now. Talking to someone is the best thing you can do if you feel you need some extra support. I am here always here to lend a listening ear before or after class, your midwife, health visitor or GP are also great people to talk to too!

Each hour-long session combines practical advice and mindset work to support both your body and your emotional well-being. These sessions will give you the tools and confidence to thrive during this chapter and not just survive! You will meet other mums-to-be, creating a community of like-minded women all on the same journey.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in then join me in Heaton Moor on Tuesday evenings and invest an hour in you!
